Dynamic checkout only ever shows Shop Pay

This is more feedback than question:

I get that Shopify wants to promote its Shop Pay method, but the way it’s done now just makes me disable it. Two major problems:

  1. When I enable Dynamic Checkout Buttons, it seems to only ever show the Shop Pay option. Despite the claim that it somehow selects the best option for the user, I’ve never seen it offer anything but Shop Pay, despite the fact I don’t use Shop Pay and do use PayPal and Google Pay. (I don’t even have “Shopify Promise”, either.)

  2. When the user does click on Shop Pay and isn’t actually a Shop Pay user, they get to a page where they’d have to sign up for Shop Pay. There is no option on that page to switch to another checkout method, even though those may be more accessible to the user.

Until Shopify fixes this - or unless there’s a way to fix it myself by some configuration - I’m disabling Shop Pay.

I don’t think there is a solution, here’s someone with the same problem and Erin from Shopify staff explains there that it’s designed to not let you choose which button is shown by Shopify. I’ve reached the exact same conclusion as Wildreach did in that thread.
