We have been getting complaints from our valued customers that they are annoyed by the reCAPTCHA when they are simply logging into their account to make a purchase. Several have reported that it sometimes turns into an endless loop of reCAPTCHA requests for no apparent reason. We have tested and seen this same issue.
We completely understand the reCAPTCHA being implemented on account creation but completely disagree with creating a reCAPTCHA for a returning customer who simply wants to make a purchase and log into their account.
The current choice is to turn all 3 interactions either on or off. Why not let merchants choose to only turn on the account creating reCAPTCHA as that is where the SPAM accounts are created!!!
I was told by customer support that if enough merchants complain about this all or none set up they may change it to allow merchants to choose 1, 2 or all 3 interactions. I would encourage merchants to voice their displeasure with this issue. I guarantee you are losing customers and sales as most people don’t let you know they are annoyed and simply buy elsewhere.
I personally have never had to play the reCAPTHCA game when I make purchases on Amazon. Maybe that is why most people prefer shopping there.
