Why did this show up after my post?> “Correct the highlighted errors and try again.> Post flooding detected (community received posts of a unique message more than 1 times within 3,600 seconds)” It showed after a single post. Thank you.
Topic summary
Error message when attempting to post to the Shopify Community: “Correct the highlighted errors and try again. Post flooding detected (community received posts of a unique message more than 1 times within 3,600 seconds).” Reported after what appeared to be a single post.
Explanation provided: The flood-control error can trigger when posting too frequently; waiting before reposting or using a private/incognito browser window may help.
Additional context: A user received multiple validation errors (wrong file type, must select a location, must have a label) and tried to submit multiple times, which likely triggered the flood detection. Switching to incognito still surfaced a “duplicate draft” error that blocked posting.
Suggested fix (actionable steps):
- Delete any existing draft of the post.
- Open a private/incognito browser window.
- Ensure all required fields (location, labels, file types) are correctly set.
- Submit the post from the incognito session.
Outcome/status: No confirmation of resolution from the original poster. Practical workaround shared; discussion appears open with pending user confirmation.
Hi @hfagh35 ,
This error can appear when you try to post too often on the Community. Please wait some time before posting again or you can try posting again via a private or Incognito web browser window.
I just tried switching to an incognito browser, and got the error again: “Post flooding detected (community received posts of a unique message more than 1 times within 3,600 seconds)”
I got multiple error messages before this (wrong file type, must select a location, must have a label, etc) and attempted to post multiple times. I am guessing that’s what triggered this error? Then when I tried in an incognito browser, I tried to post and then it gave an error about it being a duplicate draft post that again blocked it from posting.
To fix: Delete draft, then go to incognito browser, ensure all required fields are filled in, then post from incognito
