Extreme frustration with AUP violation effects when falsely accused

A few years ago I was sent an email saying a product had been removed because it breached the shopify AUP. The thing is, they made a very easy and stupid mistake and they removed the violation when I complained. They confused the AUSTRALIAN FLAG with a Confederate Flag - they look nothing alike and yet still issued a violation.

Even though they removed the violation, the shadow effects after you’ve been hit with one of those last forever.

The first impact, I couldn’t install the Shop channel and had to fight them to overrule that. I also was never offered Shopify Capital until I contacted them. Now today, I find out there are rewards for meeting sales targets, such as 10K orders in the store, my store has had over 20k sales and I don’t get them because:

Eligibility: Milestones may be awarded to shops that have reached 10,000, 100,000 or 1,000,000 lifetime orders, respectively, in addition to other requirements determined by Shopify from time to time, including a merchant’s good standing and compliance with Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) and Intellectual Property Policy (“IP Policy”).

It is ridiculous that when a seller is given a violation by mistake on Shopifys behalf that the mistake continues to affect the seller years later. Shopify - you need to sort your systems out.

I am also frustrated to reply to what seems like an AI reply to my post. Shopify does not thoroughly reverse their mistakes, that’s the complaint I have in the first place.

How many times do I need to contact them when they clearly don’t thoroughly purge their systems after they make an error. There is an extremely likely chance it is affecting us in adverse ways that we are not even aware of yet - how fair is that?
