Facebook and instagram business account setup

I can’t complete the last step of facebook setup because my commerce and Instagram accounts weren’t approved. I’ve contacted both Shopify and facebook support and they can’t help me resolve this. Can anyone please give me some advice on how to get this resolved.

Hi @tanyacox ,

if your Facbook and/or Instagram accounts have been approved, it’s the problem on the Facebook side. Therefore, you need to contact their support to find out where the problem is. I’ve put together a list of things to do when your FB account has been banned. Maybe you might check it out? Here’s the link: https://www.nikikozak.me/shopify-qa/2021-10-06-ads-account-banned/

Hope this helps!

Hi @Niki_K,

Thank you for sharing these helpful steps on how to become approved on Facebook!

Hi Tanyacox,

I understand you’re not able to complete the last step of setting up your Facebook Sales Channel as your Facebook Commerce account and Instagram are not approved. Rest assured I can certainly help you out as I know this is important for you to offer your customers an additional way to shop your products.

In order to be able to sell your products on Facebook Commerce there are some eligibility requirements that need to be met. I will share these below with you for better visibility.

Facebook Commerce Requirements:

I’ll share this resource for more information on Facebook Commerce Eligibility Requirements and this secondary resource for Instagram Eligibility Requirements.

In addition to Facebook Commerce Requirements, there are also Instagram eligibility requirements that must be met in order to be approved for shopping.

Instagram Eligibility Requirements:

  • Your Instagram account must be a professional or creator account associated with the Facebook page for your business.
  • Your Instagram account must comply with Instagrams Terms of Use.
  • Your products within Shopify must be available for direct purchase from your verified domain.

Once you’ve reviewed the above eligibility requirements and ensure that your account meets them, Facebook may take up to 48 hours for review. When the review is complete, Shopify will sync your products to Facebook Shop and Instagram Shopping.

Additionally, if you’re still experiencing issues during setup or are not approved I’d like to recommend a workaround in the meantime. The app Instafeed Instagram Feed/Story allows you to display your content and stories from Instagram directly on your storefront. This can help boost brand awareness and allow your customers to navigate to your Instagram for engagement. When you’ve installed the app you’ll need to connect your Instagram account and the app will share your content.
