Hey @Margbec !
I hope your day is going well, and thanks for getting in touch!
I am sorry to hear that you’re running into issues with the set-up of Facebook and Instagram, I can appreciate that it can be somewhat tricky to navigate. When it comes to approvals for Instagram Shopping, this is something entirely handled by Facebook/Instagram directly, and Shopify doesn’t have insight to the process. We are also not provided with any information on why they reject stores, we can only tell if a merchant has been approved, pending or rejected.
While this is outside our scope of support, there are some suggestions I can offer on how to resolve this below:
1. Check the Facebook account quality page here as this may contain more information on the status of your rejected account and what you can do to resolve issues pertaining to that account.
2. Review and check that the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Return Policy are visible in the Footer, as this information may need to be available to clients both at checkout and while on the site. After checking your store, I cannot see a privacy policy listed in the footer. Furthermore, check to see if the above Policies in the Footer aren’t from Pages, i.e. those found in Online Store > Pages, but that they are from the actual Policies sections themselves in Settings > Policies. This may be something that Facebook watch out for.
3. If your Privacy Policy does not contain any information about data sharing, and you have enabled in the Facebook Channel to data share, you may need to update your policy accordingly. The updates to make to the Policy can be found here.
4. Finally, if you haven’t already, I would recommend submitting an appeal, you can explore more on how to do this at this page here.
**I’d also recommend checking over this great blog post **from Ced Commerce that might help to provide further information on the possible cause. Ultimately, even if the above steps checks out, you will still need to submit and appeal with Facebook so that they can review your account and hopefully approve it.
By the way, I had a browse through your store here, and I must say what a wonderful store you have! I especially loved reading your ‘About Us’ story and how you came up with the idea for the store, it was such a lovely read! Have you considered adding blogs to your store? As more content is added to your store, this will help your SEO as Search Engines will crawl your site more often. The blog posts are also shareable on social media. This means that not only your customers will see them, but when they start interacting with them, their friends will see it on their timeline. This opens you up to a whole new network. This is a great Shopify blog here which shows you how to write a blog that actually gets read, once you have an idea for a blog you can learn how to add it to your store by having a look at our adding a blog help doc at this page here. It’s always good to see that you have an option for customer to contact you. I’d also recommend that you add a chat functionality so that online visitors can right away message you if they have questions about a specific item. In that way, you’ll be able to build trust and reliability with your buyers. Click here to explore more.
If you have any further questions or anything is unclear, please don’t hesitate to ask!
