Getting stuck in verification loop (Google Sales Channel)

Hi guys,

I tried to activate the new Youtube Shopping channel in my Google Shopping channel this morning.

In the first step, I thought I should reconfirm the connection to my Google Shopping account (Merchant Center). For this I should additionally enter a confirmation code via my mobile number.
That all worked out as well. However, I then found that a new Google Shopping account was created. But that was not my intention, because my Google Shopping account already exists for a year and runs successfully.

So I disconnected the new account again. Now I have to verify the old account again. Again via mobile number and code.
Unfortunately, but then immediately came the message that I needed too many attempts. I should use another number or wait four hours. Now that I don’t have another number, I waited 5 hours and tried again. However, it came right back to this message.

So now I’m stuck in this query and can’t get to the point of activating Youtube Shopping, which is very very annoying.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

First, let me explain that you don’t need to use the Google app built by Shopify to submit products to Google Merchant Center nor, do you need to it to create the campaign in Google Ads. Shopify is not being clear about this, and letting you setup things for no reason.

Unfortunately, the issue regarding phone verification is not handled by Google, it’s handled by Shopify and only Shopify can resolve technical issues within the app.

Therefor you need to reach out to Shopify to ask them to fix the issue.

I also recommend you close down any duplicate accounts, to avoid potential suspension. If it’s created by Shopify as you indicated, then contact Shopify support.
