Getting Welcome new subscribers email automation again if customer already subscribed

Topic summary

Issue: Existing newsletter subscribers are repeatedly receiving the “Welcome new subscriber” automation when they place new orders and tick the newsletter checkbox at checkout, creating a loop of duplicate welcome emails.

Goal: Ensure the welcome email sends only when the customer is a truly new subscriber at the time of order.

Current setup: The poster shared screenshots of the automation workflow and their condition configuration. Despite this condition, the welcome sequence still re-triggers for already-subscribed customers.

Request: Guidance on whether a specific filter/condition is needed in the email workflow to exclude customers who are already subscribed.

Notes: “Automation” refers to an email sequence triggered by subscription actions; the “loop” is the repeated triggering on subsequent orders.

Assets: Screenshots of the workflow and the condition are central to understanding the setup.

Status: No resolution or decisions yet; discussion remains open with key questions unanswered on the correct condition to prevent re-sends.

Hy,

I have one issue if a customer already subscribed to our newsletter emails and again if he will place order from our store and check the newsletter email checkbox at checkout, he is getting gain the same automation(Welcome new Subscribe) and its going on loop if same customer orders next time.

My concern is customer should get the email only if he is new subscriber while placing the order. Should i need to put some specific condition to my email workflow.

Here is my workflow
