Google Merchant Flags Landing Page Errors for Swiss and UK Product URLs

Hello everyone,

I am currently facing a critical issue where Google Merchant Center has flagged 613 of my products as having “landing page not working” errors. This issue is affecting product visibility for customers in Switzerland and the UK.

Details:

  • Google has identified that some of my product links are directing to broken pages, particularly when “/ch/” is appended for Swiss listings, and similar issues are presumed for the UK.
  • Despite Switzerland and the UK being set as target markets with appropriate shipping settings, this error persists and is impacting my ability to show products on Google Shopping.

I am seeking advice on how to address these Google Merchant Center flags. Has anyone else encountered similar issues with landing page errors affecting product listings? How have you resolved these issues within Shopify settings or otherwise?

Thank you for your help and insights!

Make sure that the URLs work outside of the country, meaning the links you submit should work for anyone regardless where they are in the world.

You can also use geopeeker.com to test if they work.

That is my guess what your main issue is.

Confirm that the currency displayed on your landing page matches the currency submitted to Google Merchant Center.

Make sure that product information, including titles, descriptions, and images, is consistent across your website and product data feeds. Discrepancies in the information can also trigger landing page errors.

As Emmanuel mentioned, ensure that your website is accessible and fully functional in all targeted regions. Use tools like GeoPeeker to verify how your site appears in different countries.

To address the landing page not working errors in Google Merchant Center, start by checking the flagged URLs directly in your browser to confirm if they lead to broken pages. Ensure your Shopify settings for Switzerland and the UK are correct, particularly the URL structure and shipping settings. If any URLs have changed, set up 301 redirects in Shopify to guide users to the correct pages. After making these adjustments, resubmit your product feed in Google Merchant Center and monitor for any new issues. If you continue to face challenges, consider reaching out for help from Shopify support or reach out to James’s.
