Hello i have a question, i have formed a company in Wyoming US I’m not a citizen of US but i have Physical address there its a room rented but recently someone made me unable to use Shopify payments could you please help?
Welcome to the Shopify Community!
I understand you have some queries about using Shopify Payments US. I’d be happy to help clarify this for you.
It is sometimes possible to use a Shopify Payments US account when you are located outside of the US, however it is not guaranteed because each situation is unique and processed on a case by case basis.
Your business would need to have a US tax ID and have physical operations on US soil. In addition to this, you would also require all of the following to be considered:
- A government-issued photo ID (driver’s licence, passport, etc. - non-US ID may be accepted)
- A Tax ID in the United States: EIN you are an LLC/Corp and SSN you are a Sole Proprietor.
- Business registration document (Registered in the US with the government)
- Proof that your business is actually operating from the US; this can include tracking showing that you are shipping from the US or other proof of a physical US address.
- A USD checking account, opened with a real US banking institution, located on US soil. Virtual banks and currency services are not accepted.
You mentioned that recently someone made you unable to use Shopify Payments - are you currently experiencing issues with your Shopify Payments and seeing errors or warnings in your admin? If so, it would be a good idea to check if you have received an email containing more information. Replying directly to that email will be your direct line to the team handling your payments issue and is the best course of action, especially if you have specific queries about the payments on your store. Here on the Shopify Community we are unable to access your account, or provide specific answers to ongoing support tickets.
If you haven’t received an email, and there are no obvious error messages in your admin explaining what you need to do, then reaching out to our support team using this link here will be a good idea. One of our advisors can take a closer look at your store and advise you on the best next steps.
Hi Rick i have opened a bank account by Globalfy does that work?
Thanks for getting back. I am not familiar with Globalfy as it is external to us, but from what I can see it is a service offering an all-in-one solution for selling in the US, is that correct?
It appears that they provide you with state registration, a US business address, US bank account etc. This may be enough to qualify for Shopify Payments US however I cannot say for sure as there are specialized teams who need to review your business information before making a decision.
Would your business have physical operations in the US, i.e would your orders ship from the US, or would this be some sort of virtual service that simulates a physical US business?
If you have an open ticket with our Shopify Payments team with regards to your payments situation, then I would suggest directing this query to the team handling this, as they will be the best equipped to advise on that.
If you are not in touch with that team already, then I would recommend contacting our support team using this link here. One of our support advisors would be happy to help you get this passed over to the relevant team for review.
