Hey everyone, new to shopify. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction of a tutorial or guide on how to add page types that aren’t in the theme. I’ve played around with a couple free themes. I am hoping to generate a FAQ page, about us page. However, these aren’t in the themes I am using (or I can’t figure out how to turn them on). I tried building an About Us page but it doesn’t conform to mobile very well and looks like crap.
Hey @KetanKumar , not sure I follow. Is there a way to create template pages for things like the About Us? Or is this something I import from the theme?
So’ I went into the theme customization and at the top dropdown, chose pages and did a create new template. Made a template but I can’t seem to get it to show up as one of the available templates on the pages section of the Online Store.
To create those pages, you can use our app Zeno Page Builder, which build fast and SEO-optimized pages for your store. You can also try some other page builder app on Shopify App Store to see which one fit you best.
For the “About Us” page: What an ‘About Us’ page should be is a goal-oriented sales page, one that focuses on highlighting the biggest selling points of your story and brand at the top of the page, making a strong first impression on curious customers. Shoppers are also interested in a company’s mission. They’ll use the About Us page to determine if they share core values with the business and to decide if they want to shop with the business or not. This blog post walks through what elements are needed for an excellent About Us page, and also gives examples of some stores who have done an excellent job with theirs.
For your FAQ page: One of the most effective ways to build provide a bette customer experience and help answer questions is through the use of a FAQ page. A FAQ section (Frequently asked questions) done right can be an effective addition to your website that serves several functions, including:
Alleviating purchasing anxieties that your product page or ecommerce website copy doesn’t directly address
Relieving some of the burden of your customer support team by publicly answering common questions
Improving SEO and site navigation
Earning trust by demonstrating product expertise and explaining your business model
Delighting customers by creatively answering their questions
Proactively preventing customer complaints and improving customer retention.
This blog post walks through what a good FAQ page needs, examples of well-done ones, and also a template for you to follow. I hope this helps!
