How can I automatically add free items to a cart with auto discounts?

Is there a way to automatically add free items to cart, triggered from the Shopify Auto Discount “Buy X get Y” mechanic?

So it automatically adds the free item(s) to the customer’s cart without them having to manually add it (providing they’ve met the applicable criteria)?

Ideally a free app or done by a developer, as we only use this once or twice a year and couldn’t justify paying for a monthly app that’s not in use the majority of the time.

FYI, the app is CartBot: Auto add to cart. This doesn’t pull from discounts but it’s a great (free) workaround.

Hi,

To automatically add a free gift to the cart, you can use the Buy X Get Y feature in the BOGOS App.

This allows you to run the campaign smoothly without interruptions, and it can be customized case by case based on your promotion requirements.

Since you only run this type of promotion occasionally, you can simply install and use the app during the campaign period, then uninstall it afterward, so you’re not paying for a monthly app when it’s not in use.
