How can I boost sales for my holiday costume store on Shopify?

I am working with shopify on my project started a few months ago. It’s actually a shopify store about the costumes related to Halloween and Christmas like events.

It’s a green and red colored costume named grinch suit. I’ve hunt that product and made a shopify store and thought it would start giving me some bucks after few months. But, Unfortunately it’s not even able to earn to pay the shopify charges.

So’ I am here to ask is dropshipping dead? Will i ever be able to get orders on shopify? How can i grow with shopify? Suggest my something that helps me in any way.

Thanks!

Going niche is a good strategy, but this may be too niche. If you wanted to keep the Grinch theme I would add other products (christmas cards, mugs, accessories, etc).

Dropshipping isn’t dead but also it’s not easy money right off the bat like 10 years ago. It takes time to build a brand, organic traffic, and a business.

If you’re set on selling this product I would experiment on other channels (Amazon, ebay, etc). Because with your product you’re not building a brand, you’re just selling a random product. If you want to have success on Shopify I recommend building a brand, being different, and adding unique products or at least expanding your product line. All these will give the customer a better shopping experience.

A good question to ask is “why should someone buy my product from my site instead of going to Amazon”). That will get you in the mindset to think like a brand and how you can provide value.

Also your About Us section on the home page looks like it was copied from a different site. From what I’m seeing in the navigation of the site the information there is not true.

When building out your store, it’s good to get other people to browse your site and tell you what they think. Anyone reading that would tell you it sounds weird that you advertise costumes for all ages, and say “the world’s most prestigious online costume retailer website” when that’s clearly not true, if you’re telling false information to customers, they won’t trust you.

Hope that helps generate some ideas. Once you figure out your product / branding strategy, if you ever need any help implementing website features, optimization, or website edits feel free to reach out to our team of professional Shopify developers and analysts at speedboostr.com/contact.

Hi @ashley880

Selling online is difficult because selling in any form tends to be difficult. However, today eCommerce is one of the most popular business models. Once you get good tools and time, it will become much easier and more profitable. I would like to recommend you focus on customer trust and social proof. Here are some suggestions that you can work on. I hope it would help.

  • About Us section

Add more information to About Us section regarding your business, founders, and processes for customer trust. Showing your store visitors that you are real by putting your information, team or working process photos will add credibility to your store.

  • Add more products

It does not look reliable due to the lack of the range of items in the store. Consider adding more products so that your customers can have more options to select from. Providing more products can increase your Average Order Value.

  • Reviews/Testimonials

I haven’t noticed any reviews at your shop. I strongly advise adding testimonials/reviews to products for building customer trust and social proof. Reviews are a vital part of an online store since credibility is a fundamental basis in any eCommerce. Testimonials have the ability to increase the confidence of new consumers, something essential to reduce rebound rates and abandonment of shopping carts. Collected reviews can be demonstrated through Review Tab / Widget. Example:

Good Luck with your store and I hope it will help. Don’t forget you can test Growave for free during the trial period to check whether it works for you. Efficient features such as Reviews, Wishlist, Rewards & Loyalty, Social Login, a shoppable Instagram gallery on Shopify store, Gift Cards, etc under one dashboard.

Hello Ashley880, I have had a look at the product page and I have a few suggestions that I think would be useful.

  1. The pictures of the Grinch costume could be better. If you are trying to get people’s attention to a costume then the pictures have to be as intriguing as possible, which entails them being high definition.

  2. You can add a FAQ on the page. Given that it is a Grinch costume, it is only safe to assume that the customers would have a lot of questions regarding it and it would be helpful to already put in some answers there for easy access.

  3. I suggest you also try the checkout process to ensure that all is in order in that department. You can run a test order to confirm this.

Outsourcing isn’t dead yet additionally it’s difficult cash without skipping a beat like a long time back. It requires investment to fabricate a brand, natural traffic, and a business.
