How can I create a USPS shipping manifest for multiple packages?

Topic summary

Shopify merchants shipping high volumes via USPS need a way to generate shipping manifests instead of having postal workers scan hundreds of individual packages daily.

Recent Development:
Shopify recently released a “Shipping Manifests” app that addresses this long-requested feature. The app integrates directly with Shopify’s label creation workflow, eliminating the need for third-party platforms.

How It Works:

  • Install the app through Shopify admin
  • After creating labels, a “Create Manifest” button appears in the top bar
  • Users can filter completed orders and generate manifests for multiple packages at once

Known Issue:
One user reports the manifest page frequently fails to load, displaying only a blank screen despite the app showing manifests were created. Reprinting previously generated manifests appears to work as a workaround.

Official documentation is available in Shopify’s help center. The issue of manifest loading failures may require contacting Shopify support.

How do I create a USPS shipping manifest? My local post office doesn’t want to scan hundreds of packages and every day they are asking for my manifest. I’ve seen discussions dating back for years asking for this feature. Has it been created yet???

Please don’t suggest using shippo or anything of that nature, I have a shopify website and I’m not going to type every address into a different platform when I can click “create a label” in shopify.

Thank you!

I would like this feature as well!!!

looks like shopify just made this feature available!

i got a notice on my admin page that an app was available through shopify. Its calls : Shipping Manifests

Haven’t tried it yet, but it says it’ll do what we need it to do :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Could you provide a link to that app? I just tried looking it up and can’t find it.

Hey! Here’s a link on how to use them:

https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shipping/shopify-shipping/shipping-labels/manifests

Within the link contains information how to install the app to your shop. Since it may change or they might alter the location of the app I have decided to list the how to link because if they change that they should keep the original link.

Hope this helps! -Cranky Girl

I just got an email from Shopify about the app today. Here’s the link to it: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shipping/shopify-shipping/shipping-labels/manifests?utm_source=exacttarget&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ratechange2021us2

I added this app, I’m not sure how I found it, but there was an option to create a manifest so I clicked and it installed the app and there is now a button at the top bar after labels are created that you can select to create manifest or you can filter the completed orders and select multiple then click the create manifest button, but it will not load for me. I have tried several days in a row. It will open in the same website page with a new address in the bar but the screen is blank and will not load. I tried loading the app from the pinned bar/apps and it shows 3 manifests were created ( I have had about 5-6 attempts to create them) and you can at least reprint the page in case it’s a glitch or something so that’s helpful at least.

I will try and figure out how to contact support in case it’s just me but it’s hit and miss when it works or not.
