How can I deactivate my store if I've forgotten my password?

Thank you for reaching out here.

The workaround for you is to reset your forgotten password first, then log in to your store and make a deactivation.

Below is the guide for resetting your forgotten password.

  • From the Shopify login page, enter your store address and click Next.

  • Enter your login email and click Next.

  • Click Forgot password?.

  • Enter the email that you used to create your Shopify account.

  • Click Reset password.

  • You’re sent an email with a link to reset your password. In the email, click Reset password.

  • Enter your new password in the Confirm password field.

  • Click Reset password.

  • Go back to your Shopify login page and log in with your new password.

Then if you would like to deactivate your store, please refer to this document to know how to do it and some notice you need to know before closing your store.

What password should you use if you use Google or another third party service to authenticate as I never set a password with Shopify and my google password doesn’t work on the deactivate page.
