I am trying out the dawn theme and it looks fantastic, but there are quite some things that I can´t seem to get working. On my live webpage, I am currently using the narrative theme and it looks like I am not able to utilize the templates I am creating on Dawn as well as the meta fields?
One example; I am creating a new product template, but cannot choose it when I go to the product?
Is this simply a user error on my side or is this caused by me having one live theme and another on “in progress”? I don´t want to publish the “dawn” theme website so that it will visible to my customers, but I would love to try out all the functionalities and when I am happy with it, I will publish it.
I suggest you please create a demo store and publish your theme. after publishing the theme check the theme is working correctly or not. because if not publish theme is not worked perfectly.
If you are creating a template in a non-published theme then the template will not be shown during template selection because the templates are shown from the live theme. So if you are working on a non-published theme and you want to use that template then you have to create that template with the same name in the live theme and then you wil be able to select in the product page.

The narrative theme does not support templates and metafields in the same way that dawn does, so then I guess the only option is to do as much as possible until I publish a new version of the webpage with dawn theme?
