How can I integrate Canva newsletters into Shopify emails?

Topic summary

A user is trying to send Canva-designed newsletters through Shopify Email to 4,000 subscribers but faces technical obstacles:

The Problem:

  • Canva recommends exporting as PDF to preserve embedded links
  • Shopify Email doesn’t support PDF uploads
  • Attempted workarounds (smart links, HTML code) haven’t worked

Proposed Solution:
One participant suggests using Shopify Email’s custom template feature:

  • Save Canva designs as PNG files
  • Upload the PNG images to the custom template

Current Status:
The discussion remains open with multiple users asking if a complete solution was found. The PNG workaround may address image transfer but doesn’t clearly resolve the original issue of preserving clickable links from the Canva design.

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem.

I have created newsletters in Canva as its quiet a visual app and tool to have, and want to transfer my newsletter with all its links to shopify email to send it out to our 4k subscribers.

Canva states to download as a PDF to still have all the links embedded.

I do this, yet shopify email will not support a pdf on the emailing platform.

I’ve tried to to smart links from Canva, and also even done the HTML code though to the Shopify Email - but with no luck.

Is there an app or integration to rectify this problem?

I found that if you use the shopify email app and go to create your own template, then you can use your canva designs. You just need to make sure you’ve saved them as a png and then upload the image.
