How can I prioritize and group orders effectively in Shopify?

New to shopify - so don’t shoot me!

I’m looking for a way to prioritize orders and group based on like work.

Example - I run an engraving company. I’d like to have a way to:

A) put a work order at the top for an urgent customer need

B) When there’s nothing urgent, group like work together (i.e., orders to engrave SKU A together, SKU B together, etc.) Or at least an easy way to run down my list of orders and pick out all the SKU A’s so I can engrave them all at once with the same settings.

Is there a way to do this in shopify - or an app?

Nice, welcome!

I think the best way to do this is with order tagging.

When you tag orders, you can then filter by them, and also save the filter link for quick access.

Example:

  1. Tag a couple orders Urgent (or whatever you want for top priority orders)

  2. Now in the all orders page, filter by that tag

  3. You’ll see the url change in your browser. You can save that url for quick access in the future, so you just need to share your tag strategy with your team to tag the orders, then you can use those quick urls to access the tagged orders whenever you need them.

If you want orders to be tagged automatically, you can use Order Automator to create rules to tag orders. For example, if you want to tag all orders that contain SKU-A, you can set up a rule to identify those orders and tag them as you wish. You can also set up emails if you want, to email staff or a partner when an order contains a certain product, can tag customers, and some other stuff. I’m the lead developer of that app so if you need any help or have ideas for things you want to automate just reach out.

Enjoy your Shopify journey!

Just a quick note - thank you for your help. I know this is basic stuff for many, but being new, I didn’t know.

I see EXACTLY what you’re talking about now. And I’ve added your app. For those that may be reading, I tried a few others as well and the one I am keeping is order automator. No limits on tags, easy interface, POWERFUL interface that allows a lot of specificity.

Already thinking about how to build better workflows within my shop thanks to this tool.
