How can I redirect non-working URLs to the correct address?

Addresses that do not work;

http://www.refagida.com/
https://www.refagida.com/

I need to redirect the above addresses to https://refagida.com/. Can you please help?

Since your ns records are set to Google Domains you’d need to do that in their control panel: https://domains.google.com/registrar/?pli=1

This is definitely something that can be done, but in order to do so you need to edit the DNS settings so that the CNAME and the A record IP address is pointing to Shopify. From there, you can then set the non www domain as the primary domain for your store and all traffic going to the www domain will automatically be redirected.

I’ll also provide that same info below for ease of access:

  1. Change the following records:
    1. Point the A record to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65.
    2. If necessary, change the Host name to the @ symbol.
    3. Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
    4. Point the CNAME record with the name www to shops.myshopify.com.

If you are unsure about how to setup your DNS records, please feel free to share a screenshot of your DNS records currently and I will be happy to assist. Also, please note that DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to apply, so once you make the update you will need to leave it for a bit before you are going to see the changes live.

Hello. Thank you for your response. Actually, it seems like an attempt was made to redirect to www. But for days it looks like this as seen in the picture. I wonder if I should delete this part and redo it.

From what I can see on my end, it looks like the DNS records for the CNAME (www) version of the domain have not populated correctly. Did you update the CNAME records to point to shops.myshopify.com?

The redirect will not work if the domain’s DNS isn’t populating properly.

Is your domain hosted with Shopify directly, or through a third party? You may need to sign into your domain host website to update and correct your DNS settings.

Our domain name was bought through shopify. Maybe the redirect is not pointing to shop.myshopify.com.

In this case, should I delete and reinstall the redirect subdomain that starts with www?

If you click on the parent domain, refagida.com, and go into edit the DNS, can you share a screenshot of the DNS information for the domain? If it is missing one or more DNS field that could be problem. Resetting the redirects shouldn’t make a difference in this case, it is strictly to do with the DNS for the domain.

Thank you for the screenshot! I tested this today and it appears the redirects are all working as expected. Are you still seeing the “Setup in progress” next to the www domain in the admin? If yes, please reach out to our live support so that our technical team can assist. Your DNS settings all look correct though and everything should be now working as expected.

When I deleted and reinstalled, the “installation in progress” warning disappeared and domain redirection now works. Thank you very much for your help.
