Quick question. Within my Shopify template design, there is an option for a newsletter (pop up and footer)and when I have my newsletter enabled after entering an email into pop-up message regarding newsletter it redirects you to a new page that has recaptcha on it prompting the new subscriber to complete it in order to subscribe. And when doing it from the footer section, once clicking submit it sends you to a 404 page.
I have been trying to work this issue out for a very long time and I was just wondering if I could take it off recaptcha completely so that I can resolve this issue.
Hello @BadDahlia ,
Welcome to Shopify Community ! Happy 2023
It is generally a good idea to use a CAPTCHA like reCAPTCHA to prevent spam and abuse of your newsletter signup form in your Shopify store. However, if you are experiencing issues with the CAPTCHA redirecting to a 404 page or not functioning properly, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
-
Check to make sure that you have properly set up and configured the reCAPTCHA service on your Shopify store. This may include getting a site key and secret key from Google and adding them to your store’s code.
-
Make sure that your store’s server is able to communicate with the reCAPTCHA service. This may involve whitelisting certain IP addresses or making sure that your server’s firewall is not blocking the connection.
-
Check to make sure that your store’s code is properly formatted and free of any syntax errors. This can sometimes cause issues with the way elements on a page behave.
-
If you have recently made any changes to your store’s code, try reverting back to a previous version to see if the issue is resolved.
If none of these suggestions help, it might be helpful to try asking for help on a support forum or contacting the support team for the theme or plugin you are using for your newsletter signup form in your Shopify store.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or if you need further assistance.
