How can I set a minimum order limit in the cart?

I am wanting to code in where the minimum order limit is 10 total items at checkout. I’m unsure of where I should insert or write the code.

I am looking at the main-cart.liquid but I can’t find the quantity.

Could you please explain in detail? what you exactly want? does total 10 products should be there or one product with 10 quantity is there?

I am wanting total of 10 quantity items minimum on there. For example, 4 shirts, and 6 hats would satisfied this condition. I hope that makes sense. I just want 10 total items before they can checkout.

You can achieve this using the DC Order Limits app without needing to code it directly:

  1. Create a New Rule: Go to the DC Order Limits section in your Shopify admin dashboard and create a new order limit rule.
  2. Set Minimum Quantity: In the rule details, set the “Minimum Quantity” to 10. This ensures customers need to have at least 10 items in their cart to proceed to checkout.
  3. Configure Grouping Options: Select “Any Item” so the limit applies to the entire cart collectively.

This way, whether it’s 4 shirts and 6 hats or any combination of items totaling 10, it will satisfy the condition. Does this help? Checkout this video demo here.
