How can I track taxed vs. untaxed sales on Shopify Pro?

I am new to Shopify (pro), and am migrating from Quickbooks. I am currently using Shopify POS in-store and my online with migrate later. In my state (and with my business), not all items I sell collect sales tax. With QB I could go in and it would tell me how much in net sales and then break it down by how much (collectively) of those were taxed vs. untaxed. Is there a way, through reports, that I can have that same breakdown? I will need this for my quarterly sales tax filings.

Hey there, @tea-mistress

You can use Report Pundit for your requirements. We have pre-created tax report templates that contain all the data you need to see. These reports are customizable with date ranges and have filtering and sorting options.

We also offer a custom report builder, where you can create your own reports. If you need assistance, feel free to contact us. We’ll be happy to build a customized report with all the data you require.

Cheers!

So, essentially what you’re saying is that Shopify does not provide that breakdown and that I’d have to pay for an addition al app service to do so. Did I get that correct?

Hey, @tea-mistress

Yes, you got it right, Shopify does not offer the detailed, customized reporting and specific breakdown you seek for taxable and non-taxable sales.

However, we understand the importance of meeting your reporting needs. Our team is here to assist you by customizing data and creating reports tailored to your requirements.

In the meantime, we have a solution for you to consider. You can use our app, which is currently available for free until you reach a total of 1000 orders. Additionally, we offer a 14-day trial period, giving you an opportunity to explore its features and determine if it meets your needs.

Cheers!
