How do I add Google Customer Reviews (Store Ratings) to my store?

Hi Team, Google wants me to add Google Customer Reviews (Store Ratings) to my store, by adding their code for the survey Op in which I understand we are supposed to add to the ‘Order status page additional scripts’ section, but this section has been depreciated. Anyone know how to add this or is there an easy app I can use to do this via a Pixel in the Customer Events Section?

Hi @p1simgear

You can add Google reviews to your store by just simple using apps such as a Vitals: Reviews, Google Reviews by Reputon, Google Reviews by Elfsight, Google Reviews by Trust.Sync, and Google Reviews & Trust Badges. You can check them out and see what works best for you.

Thank you for these suggestions, but paying for an app to fix what Shopify has broken really isn’t a reasonable solution unless Shopify is going to pay for it.

Hi @p1simgear we have created a workaround, so you can again collect Google Customer Reviews through the Merchant center using a custom checkout extensibility. You can use https://apps.shopify.com/google-customer-reviews to show a button on the Thank you page. The customer then gets redirected to a proxy page, which renders the opt-in widget :slightly_smiling_face:

If you are on a plan that allows you to access the “Order status page,” you can still add Google Customer Reviews by inserting the code through Shopify’s checkout settings. If that does not exist, you can manage Customer Reviews with apps such as Google Channel or Elevar through a pixel in the Customer Events section that fires post-order completion.
Alternatively, you could create a small snippet in your theme and call that snippet using Shopify’s Checkout Scripts or Shopify Flow once an order is at the ‘thank you page’. This keeps deprecated sections out and keeps the tracking real.

I saw we were mentioned earlier in this thread, so I have to clarify something.

Unfortunately, Google Customer Reviews (Store Ratings opt-in survey) integration is not supported by our Google Reviews app at the moment. I also want to apologize for the earlier confirmation suggesting that it could be done with our app. That was incorrect.

Right now, reviews from this specific source can only be added manually in All-in-One Reviews app.
