I no longer want to use Shopify this account has been inactive for 3 months and I have no use for it anymore, I thought I cancelled this payment but I didn’t, I don’t have enough to afford the subscription monthly therefore I would like to close my account and the subscription because it keeps charging me for it
Hello @Jjosh !
I appreciate you reaching out about this.
In most cases you can follow the below steps to quickly close your store yourself:
-
Sign into your Shopify Admin as the Account Owner.
-
Ensure that you have backed up any data you would like to save. Review this document here for more details on this process.
-
On the bottom left, click Settings.
-
Choose the Plans option.
-
Click on Pause or Cancel Subscription.
-
Follow the prompts to complete the closure. Once this has been completed, you will not be charged again.
Upon closure, your store’s data will be saved for two years if you change your mind. You’ll simply want to login and select a plan to continue with your business. You can read more details about store cancellations in this help document here.
Should this process not work for you, then it might be the case that you have outstanding charges owed. You need to pay any outstanding charges that you might have. If you have no outstanding charges against your account, then you won’t receive a bill after deactivating your store.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
