How to cancel Loox after deactivating my Shopify Store

Topic summary

A user deactivated their Shopify store before uninstalling the Loox app and is concerned about ongoing subscription charges without access to the store admin.

Key clarifications provided:

  • Apps billed directly through Shopify (like Loox) automatically stop charging when a store is deactivated
  • No manual cancellation is needed in this case
  • If charges continue, users should contact the app developer directly via the Shopify App Store listing

Important caveat:
If the store is later reactivated, Loox charges will resume automatically since the app remains installed. The Loox team confirmed they’re available for any additional questions.

I’ve recently deactivated my Shopify Store but I forgot to uninstall Loox before I deactivated my store. Now I don’t have access to my store admin anymore so I couldn’t find a way to uninstall Loox.

Is there any other way I could cancel my Loox subscription?

Hi @Shiyu .

Essentially, when a store is closed, app charges will cease as long as they were billed directly through Shopify and appeared on your Shopify invoices. Some apps charge fees externally and when this is the case, they must be uninstalled before closing the store for the billing to stop. If you find that you’re still being charged after deactivating your store, you may reach out to the app developers for assistance. Their contact details are found in their listing on the Shopify App Store.

Hey @Shiyu !
Sara from the Loox team here :slightly_smiling_face:

Now that your store has been deactivated, Shopify should stop all future app charges- including your Loox subscription. Just keep in mind that if you reopen your store, Shopify will create new Loox charges to your account since the app is still installed.

Feel free to reach out to us anytime with any Loox-related questions- we’re always happy to help!
