How to directly add products to the shopping cart without opening the product details page

How to directly add products to the shopping cart without opening the product details page. I’m using Dawn theme, please help me!

I want to achieve the effect shown below. Customers can directly join the shopping cart when goods are displayed.

Hi there @JUTUOJEWEL . I’m happy to help you out with this!

Dawn has a setting built into the theme editor that you can enable to give customers this option. To get into your theme editor you’ll want to go to Online store > Themes > Customize (next to Dawn). The steps from here will be a bit different depending on what part of your online store you would like to add the quick add buttons to.

For example, if you want to add this to your collection pages, you would want to select your Default collection template and then click Product grid to open the settings for that section. From there you will find the Enable quick add button setting. If it’s enabled you should see the quick add options that customers can use to add products to the cart directly.

If you are trying to add this to your home page you would select the Home page template and click Featured collection to open the settings for the section. You will find the Enable quick add button setting there.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for your help!I have solved this problem now.
Now I have another question, would you mind to help me?

I wanna add some extra questions on the check-out page, what should I do?
such as this:

Hi @JUTUOJEWEL . I’m glad I was able to help you with your last question! I can look into this with you as well. Which Shopify plan is your account on? Are the questions in your screenshot the additional fields you want at checkout? Or are there other questions you’d like to include?

It’s not typically possible to edit the checkout beyond the style customizations listed on this page or the checkout settings in your Shopify admin (by going to Settings > Checkout). That being said, your checkout will already have fields for your customer’s name, email address, phone number, and company name. You can manage those settings in Settings > Checkout.

If you’d like to collect more information than that you could also add cart notes to your cart page. You can usually do this within your theme editor. Once you’re in your theme editor select your Cart template and click the appropriate section. This could look different depending on your theme, but in my example it’s the Subtotal section. After you click the section you should see the Enable cart note setting. This would give your customers a space to add more information to their order. If you need to you can change the prompt for the note by going to Online store > Themes > Actions > Edit languages. If you search for “note” within your language editor you should find the cart note setting and you can change the wording to anything you’d like.

If you are looking for product specific information, for example the “plating thickness” field in your screenshot, you may want to consider using a third party app to let customers customize their product. I’ve included a few examples of apps that would allow you to add specific customization options to products.

My last suggestion is to add a contact form to your cart page. I noticed that the page in your screenshot is a contact page so this may be closer to what you are looking for. If you’re using an Online Store 2.0 theme you would be able to do this. This can be done in your theme editor by selecting your Cart template and clicking Add section > Contact form. It wouldn’t be mandatory for customers to fill this out, but it would give them the option.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for your help. From these information,I would like change another theme which allows me to customise my checkout page now. However,I cannot find the suitable theme.

Are there any recommended themes?Paid themes are also available. Looking forward to your reply.

Hi @JUTUOJEWEL . It’s not possible to edit the checkout beyond the settings in the Theme Editor or the settings within Settings > Checkout in your Shopify Admin. The exception to this are stores on the Shopify Plus plan.

The main reasons behind not being able to edit the checkout are security, responsiveness, and maintaining PCI compliance. Having customized checkouts would make it very difficult for us to roll out updates & improvements, as we would have to make the changes on a store-by-store basis. These systems are in place with the primary focus of making the platform more secure for you. That being said, I’d be happy to share any feedback you have about this.
