Experts are harassing me left and right. I hired an expert to take of some things. They understood that I have limited funds. They agreed to work with me. All they really did was change the theme. Gee, I could have done that. It took days before changing things. Ive had numerous experts give their opinions to offer help and suggestions. I mentioned to my staff that this was happening , he told me to please trust him. He advised me to be careful who i was chatting with. But, I started this store all by myself and got things done. I feel like this whole thing is making nervous, my staff is just not working. I am going to relieve his duty and might even shut it all down. I have spent many long hours getting the store what it is today. Today I had expert tell me in text that I have serious issues with the store. Humm, i have supposed to take care of things. I just want to give up. Feeling very discouraged and disappointed…
It definitely sounds like you have a lot on your plate! Are these messages you are receiving cold emails/messages from experts? Are they sending this information to you through your contact us form or live chat on your site?
I would be cautious of predatory “experts” who reach out unsolicited to offer help and make changes to your online store. I always recommend hiring an expert with proven results or one that has been referred to you by a trusted source.
We do have our Experts Marketplace where you can hire professionals vetted by Shopify to assist you: Hire Shopify Experts, developers, designers and freelancers. You can also find great help in our community forums and a lot of reliable experts whose help you can review through their forum posts.
Would you be able to share some of the concerns you have about the function of your website? Are you trying to change or improve something specific? Do you have a clear contract of the expected work and payment with the developer you are currently working with?
