I am a bit scared to use a Shopify expert

Hi there everyone!

I’ve heard a lot about using a Shopify expert, but that is so scary! That would mean access to my store and all my products. I am asking this with great respect. How do I know I can trust a Shopify expert? Where do I even start to find one that can help me change the look of my Shopify store?

How fast can they help and what is the price?

I would appreciate some more info on this topic.

Hiring a Shopify Expert can be scary. It doesn’t have to be.

  1. There are several Shopify Experts companies who have been in the space for a very long time. For example, we’ve been in the space since 2015. I would definitely research how long they’ve been a Shopify Expert.

  2. There are several Shopify Experts who have established a reputation with apps, themes, etc. These companies recommend them on the regular. They only recommend companies they can trust because it would negatively affect their business. You might ask your theme developer who they recommend. In our case, Maestrooo, Clean Canvas, We Are Underground, Switch themes, etc all have us as their preferred Shopify Expert.

  3. I would ask for examples of the work they’ve done? How many stores they’ve worked with? How long they will give you to review the work? How many rounds of revisions do you get with the work?

  4. How do you bill? Project, Hourly, Retainer, etc. Hourly billing isn’t usually kind to merchants because revisions leads to an inflated price.

  5. Speed - If someone can do the change today. That is a pretty big red flag. Shopify Experts with a solid reputation have a book of business continually flowing to them.
