Hi. I have it reset my password I have recently reset my password because i was havung to log into my admin grom one of my devices. but by doing this - i now can’t get passed the login screen because.
#1 I have 2FA as a login option for my account but don’t have it setup properly due to app overwhelm.
#2 "can’t use recovery code because I recently reset the codes as I ha used them all….but I forgot to download.
I have emailed shopify support but can’t guarantee I will get an answer urgently as I need.
And help centre is TERRIBLE. Just.leads you around in circles.
Any idea guys or is anyone here a support advisor who can help me.
Unfortunately, since this is a Shopify account access + 2FA issue, only Shopify Support can unlock your account no one here in the community (or outside Shopify staff) can bypass that for security reasons.
Based on what you’ve described:
You’ve reset your password.
You have 2FA enabled but the authenticator app isn’t set up properly.
Recovery codes are no longer usable because they were reset and not downloaded.
That combination means you’re effectively locked out until Shopify verifies your identity.
What you should do now
You’ve already emailed Shopify Support that’s the right first step.
For urgent cases, I recommend using live chat or callback request via Shopify Help Center → click “Contact Support” → log in (choose “Can’t log in?” if needed).
Shopify will normally ask you to provide:
The account owner’s email address
Last 4 digits of the credit card on file (if applicable)
Your Shopify store URL
Any billing or identity verification they request
This verification step is required before they can reset/remove 2FA.
I cant even get through the chat section in shopify help centre. Ot just takes me around in circles based with these 2 responses. No matter how much I ask to be connected to a support advisor or request a call back.
But I need to speak with someone urgently for my work. I’m an admin/staff user for multiple stores as I’m a virtual assistant. So I don’t own the stores, don’t know ow the credit card numbers. I can verify my ID and confirm the stores I’m an admin/staff member for though.
