I don’t have or never have had a Shopify account but I’ve just noticed they are taking money from my account and have been for over a year.

I’ve tried looking for a contact to talk to someone about this but I just keep going round and round in circles.

it said to talk to someone to select a store (which I don’t have) or to create a free trial account which is what I’ve done. Just to try and talk to someone.

after doing this the whole thing disappears and I’m back to square one.

how do I just talk to someone ( a human ) who can resolve this issue

this is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had and I’ve never even signed up for anything.

I have exactly the same problem, I have created an account so I can try and resolve the problem but with no luck. My bank app tells me they have taken around £130 but it does not show on statements. I am considering reporting this theft to the police or relevant fraud officers in the UK. I have never held an account until today. Can Shopify explain why they are seemingly stealing from my bank?

That is definitely strange. To confirm, did you ever sign up for a free trial period? If you haven’t done so already, I’d encourage you to use our Recovery Tool to verify that you don’t have an existing account.

That being said, our public facing Community Team is unable to access any account details. Due to this, you will need to connect with our support team by heading over to our Help Center.

To connect, you can follow the steps outlined below:

  • In the virtual chat assistance, type ‘I can’t log in’
  • This will populate a few resources, where after a minute or two you should see the option to select ‘I still need help’

I opened a Shopify account about 8 months ago couldn’t work it out so
closed it down but they kept taking money out! I have put a stop to it now
through my bank and I want my money back $61.60. For 8 months!

I have the EXACT same problem. Had the account but closed it in January 2024 and still auto debit is continuing. I have spoken to many advisors. Emailed but NOTHING. I have got vp issues owing to their useless attitude

No solution. Bank is saying contact Shopify. Shopify is saying do it Yourself. Now what do u do???

Acc support has been give all bank Statements and now again they are saying go to the acc and do it. I don’t have access details. Also they are not refunding. I will sue SHOPIFY. Already spoke to my lawyer! What the hell!!! Taking hard earned money like this stealing!!!

They did the exact same thing to me! I made an account on 10/24/2024 but deactivated it on 11/01/2024. On 11/04/2024, I got charged $128 but didn’t realize it. I again got charged $128 on 12/23/2024 so I contacted support and they told me they’d escalate the matter to billing to issue me a refund and that they deactivated my account. Billing never refunded me AND they reopened my account because I was charged another $128 on 1/12/2025. SHOPIFY IS A CORRUPT, THIEVING, FRAUDULENT COMPANY and I do plan on suing them. I have now been having to keep all my money in my savings account so Shopify doesn’t steal anything else.

Hi, not sure if anybody else is reading this. Everyone in their group has had money taken from them and shopify can’t give you a legitimate reason and refuse to refund transactions. We have experienced not just the loss of our money but a recurring billing that they can’t seem to stop. They sent me an email saying they froze my funds over $400 until June 12th 2025. I have 2 iphone orders i can’t ship because who is paying to ship a product when you guys can’t GARAUNTEE i will be paid until summer? This is unethical and I run an LLC taxes are due quarterly. So what revenue do I put for the entire first half of the year if I can see it, touch it or spend it? Join us in a class action suit. I am having my lawyer craft the paperwork now with an outline of the charges against them. Thanks.
