Images attached to product variants are not switching when selected - Dawn 12.0.0

Hi, I have the dawn theme set up and I noticed today that when I’m on a product page and I select one of the variants (color) it no longer causes the product image to change to that variant image that it’s attached to. So for example, if I select “brown” the image doesn’t switch to showing the brown version, it just stays on the first photo. I’m not sure how to get it working again. Can anyone help?

Thanks so much! It has actually never worked on desktop, but works on mobile. We use the Lace theme. The issue is the same with all products, new and old, and I’ve checked the mappings.

Additionally, you can apply extra fees to certain choices, make options mandatory, or use conditional logic to display or hide options based on the customer’s selections.

Verify that each variant has been assigned to its image in Shopify Admin. Clear your cache or try in incognito to rule out caching issues. Deactivate any custom scripts or apps that may be affecting the product gallery, as they can interfere with Dawn’s built-in variant image switching and stop the updates on selection.

This is probably a bug in the theme which does not let the image update. I have experienced this before and mostly the solution was just to remove or comment a line of code but the main work was to debug where the error or issue was.

Since you are pretty much using a paid theme I believe you can reach out to the developers of the theme. It could be a bug or may be they can eot with an update that you are not aware of.
