Is a Certificate of Incorporation valid for NZ business verification?

To continue using Shopify Payments I am required to submit a business registration document to verify my business. I am wondering what documentation this is for NZ Businesses, I was unable to find any specifics anywhere..? Will my “Certificate of Incorporation” be sufficient as a ‘Valid Business Registration’ ?

Hi @blueskinmowers ,

Really great question.

Will my “Certificate of Incorporation” be sufficient as a ‘Valid Business Registration’ ?

That certificate would be valid, yes! The other documents which can be used in New Zealand to verify are as follows:

  • Statement from a financial institution
  • Government issued letter
  • VAT Registration
  • New Zealand Business Number Registration Extract
  • New Zealand Companies Office Company Extract
  • New Zealand Certificate of Incorporation
  • New Zealand Certificate of Good Standing
  • Memorandum of Association
  • Financial statement

Other than this, how is the set up for your store going? What are looking to sell? I’m here if you have any other Shopify questions!
