Shopify recently required people to enter their business registration detail in order to run it. However, I don’t have a business registration detail, i meant i am still testing idea and try to see if they work. Is it a must have ? As registering for a business will cost money. Shopify community, please let me know.
Are you based in Hong Kong? If so, then yes - we do need the business documentation if you choose to use Shopify Payments as your payment processor. Individuals in Hong Kong fall into the same category as sole proprietorships, and will need to be registered with the Hong Kong government to use Shopify Payments, they will need to submit their government-issued BRN (Business Registration Number).
A possible work around for this would be to use a different, third party payment processor. I cannot say for definite, but it is possible that some of the options will not require the BRN. Here is a list of payment gateways for Hong Kong if you wish to explore this option.
How are thing on your store other wise? Is there anything you’d like to improve or change?
Thank you very much Ivy for the prompt reply, that is really helpful. Yes, I am based in Hong Kong. Just wondering if change is effective immediately ? Also the other payment option does not look familiar, I just need the basic one that people can pay with credit card, which i guess is just shopify payment ? I was about to draft an emails to drive traffic. Things are alright, I am doing this alone, but I really need to put more time into the store and speed things up, kind of just starting out. I guess the other thing I have in mind is how to increase the loading speed of the site ? And something kind of unrelated, is there any way shopify will help you drive free traffic to your site ? Thanks again !
This requirement came into effect on September 3rd, 2021 and has been applied across the board since then.

Speeding up your store is best done by ensuring you are using small/compressed images, as few videos as possible, as few apps plugged in as possible and minimising things like pop-ups.
