What documents do I need to verify business registration in Singapore?

I have been submitting my BizFile from ACRA multiple times but they have been rejected.

The error message did not mention what the problem is.

May I know which document I would need to submit?

There are multiple documents and certificates available for purchase:

  • Business Profile

  • Certificate of Good Standing

  • Certificate Confirming Registration / Incorporation of Entity

Which one should I get?

Note that we need to buy the profile so would like to get it right the first time as it’s additional cost.

And because of this, my Shopify Payments are on hold.

With regards to your inquiry, I recommend you reach out to our live support team about why documents keep getting rejected. From my experience, we get a variety of different documents with how different businesses can be set up and the system sometimes is not sure what document it is looking at. Your submission may simply need a manual review from our internal team.

When you reach out, they are able to review the matter and see where the error is happening. If it is solely about the documents, they can provide further assistance on what documents we can accept from you and your type of business.

Hi Daniel,

Yes, I have reached out to the live support team yesterday and he has escalated the issue to the Payments team. But at the end of the day, the document was still rejected with the same error message that did not explain the reason why it was being rejected.

Hence I am at my wit’s end on how to get my business verified!

When the escalated team informed you of the rejection, what exactly was what was said? I also recommend to reply directly to that email thread for further information.

Moreover, were you able to visit the link above for accepted documents based in SIngapore? This is a great document to look over as it provides a list of accepted documents.

As per the document, acceptable document types for individuals and businesses in Singapore include the following:

Identity documents:

  • Passport
  • Driver license: scans of front and back are required
  • ID card: scans of front and back are required
  • National ID
  • Singapore Work Permit or Pass
  • Singapore Armed Forces card
  • Singapore National Service Identity card

Company/entity documents:

  • Incorporation of Company
  • Registration of Business Name
  • Registration of Limited Liability Partnership
  • Registration of Limited Partnership
  • Registration of Foreign Company
  • Certificate of Registration of Entity
