Is it worth keeping the store without Merchant Center and Google Ads?

Hi everyone,
I have a client who is suspended with Ads and MC. Their store builder agency created a second MC and email address. Of course, this is a huge policy violation. The new MC account and Ads account are suspended. Would you operate a store that does not have access to Google Shopping? Yes, they can run Bing shopping and Google search ads but that does not seem like the best option. Thoughts?

Hi Vmi1816,

While there are other ad options for you to explore, like Meta ads (Facebook & Instagram), you are losing access to a huge market that comes in through Google Shopping Ads.

Try appealing to Google for them to reinstate your account. At times, the Google representative also shares the policy you are violating and why your account was suspended in the first place. There is also something known as the ‘cool down period’, you’ll have 2 opportunities to request an account review before a cool down period is initiated for further reviews. It is detailed in the hyperlink I have shared. And yes during the cool period, you have the opportunity to fix all the issues that caused the suspension in the first place.

Say you have exhausted all possible ways of getting your GMC account back, then go for Google search ads & Meta ads. Google search ads has a huge display network and you can also retarget customers that have visited your website. Meta ads is also up and coming and used by a lot ecommerce stores.

Hope this helps!

HI, thanks for your answer. I did not know you could reopen a closed Merchant Center account. This is good news.

Right Google ads retargeting is good. I’m glad you mentioned that one.
