Is this urgent billing update email a scam?

I just received what I think is a scam to update billing info. The subject line says “Urgent: Your store could be frozen soon because your bill payment failed” and the email it came from is "billing@account.myshopifysupport.email". It takes you to a page that looks identical to Shopify login but I didn’t go any further than that.

Thank you for flagging this email. I can confirm this is a phishing email as Shopify emails will end in @shopify.com or @email.shopify.com. Could you please forward the email to safety@shopify.com? Once you have forwarded the email, you can mark it as spam and delete it from your inbox.

I have the same problem! They send me an email every month from a new email address. Shall I forward the email to your mentioned address and do the same every time?

It is really stressing every time that I get such email. :disappointed_face:

Forwarding the email to our Safety team every month would be the best step you can take to report the email. Marking it as spam will also help your email provider learn what is considered spam and may help mitigate the chances of you seeing these types of emails in the future.
