Limiting the number of digital media downloads per member

I’m trying to setup a membership (subscription) plan akin to this:

The idea is to have members be able to download 2, 4, or 6 PDFs (paywall content) per month. Each PDF has its own product page and the idea is that the member can click “download” and use one of their available “tokens” per month.

After asking around it seems this is not possible to do on Shopify, however I would love to be corrected.

As you know Shopify don’t support, but we work on custom app to achieve the same do let me know you want to go ahead with it.
