Linkpop causes “Site security certificate is not trusted” message

Customers are telling me that the Linkpop takes them to an error message.

I cannot replicate the problem because it does work on my browser but a customer sent screenshot below.

I’d really love to see an actual resolution to the issue which seems to be super common.

Do I just need to switch back to Linktree?

Thanks

Hey, [email removed]Dvdandrea! Welcome to Shopify Community!

This sounds like an issue with your domain. Do you mind sharing it here so I can investigate?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I’ve been with Shopify for quite some time.

Occasionally get a security a warning when viewing the site on my own browser too.

Thanks

Hello?

Thanks, [email removed]Dvdandrea! I checked your domain’s DNS settings and I could see it has the necessary DNS records required for it to be connected to your store. I also visited your website through your Instagram page or Linkpop and it worked fine on my end. For good measure, our support team can access your account and double-check that everything is set up properly. If you wish for this to be done, you can visit this link to log in and create a support ticket.

This is happening to numerous people right now. Shopify mentioned they know its an issue during a chat message but they dont give you any way to remedy it. they just say ask google to review. But there is nothing on the site that it broken or deceptive. There is no malware. And Shopify hasnt given any solution except to try to blame google.

Shopify, we need a solution to the issued you guys created.

Agreed.

The response I’ve received (and see over and over elsewhere) is that it “works for me”.

This doesn’t help at all. Customers, despite whether they’ve cleared their cache etc, should be able to reach our websites without issue.

For what it’s worth, here we are a year later, and I’m having this same issue. It works fine for some people (like my husband), and for others (like me), we get the error that the OP sent. For what it’s worth, I have the AT&T Active Armor app installed on my phone. My husband doesn’t. So that app is somehow blocking the Linkpop page for my store to not load on my phone. But I don’t know why it would think it’s malicious. So sure, Shopify is going to blame the malware blocker apps, and the apps are going to blame Shopify. And who loses in the end? Us, the shop owners. It’s very frustrating. And I’m assuming since, a year later, this issue is still an issue, no one has resolved it. Is there any support Shopify can provide for this?

yep I’m having the same issue with mine as well!

I find it strange that Shopify staff seem quick to blame DNS or Google.

The issue is clearly with Linkpop, as this is a site that gives users an accessible list of important links for a brand or person.

I too have been experiencing issues on this area and have been losing customers as a result.

I have been left with no choice but to remove any links to linkpop on my social media.

I noticed several months ago that the linkpop.com domain that users m used to be able to go to, to log in and edit their linkpop accounts was no longer working but assumed this was a temporary issue.

Clearly it was not.
