Welcome to the community Karen!

Checked out your store and the artwork is genuinely beautiful. The island vibes come through and the framed canvas photos look really professional. A few things I’d tweak though.

Your hero section is doing too much. Right now it’s a collage of small images and your art gets lost in it. For an art store, you want one stunning piece front and center filling the whole banner. Let the painting speak for itself. That single image will do more selling than a dozen thumbnails crammed together.

The biggest thing missing is your story. People buying original art want to know the artist. Where do you paint? What’s your connection to the islands? Why these subjects? A short section on the homepage with a photo of you working or in the islands would build a ton of trust. Art buyers aren’t just buying a print, they’re buying into the person behind it.

Also “Swag” as a menu item is a bit confusing. If that’s merchandise like mugs or tote bags with your art on them, maybe rename it to something clearer like “Merch” or “Gift Shop.”

Pricing looks solid for framed canvas prints. Are you selling mostly to locals or shipping nationwide?

This is fantastic feedback. Thank you for being detailed in your comments. I do have an about page created, just haven’t published it, and you are making a great case to do that. So thank you!

I also appreciate the comment on the home page for the hero section. I will look into modifying.

I am extremely new to selling online. My people have really enjoyed my pieces and suggested I entertain selling prints, so here I am. I have all my products through Printify, with selected vendors, using a print on demand. I do intend to sell nationwide, as I set that preference in Printify.

Again, thank you for taking the time to provide such great feedback. It is appreciated!

better one ..deep suggestion..

Also you can consider below points

  1. Header is not optimised- Please provide categories clearly on the header so that users can easily navigate, a sales-engaging message like 10% off on shipping or a limited-period deal, or get flat 10% off on your first order

  1. Add a quick checkout or an add to cart button in the featured products:

  1. Footer is not optimized, it lacks return and refund policy, shipping policy, about us, contact us like pages add them, also powered by Shopify is looking down at the bottom, you need to remove that for a professional look.

  1. Missing social signals

You are only active on Instagram and made one post it seems like its new account kindly add engaging reels, founder message, and behind the scenes like reels to engage audience also be active on other visual focused platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok etc, also add Review related apps for your shopify store where users can engage and you can get User generated content (UGC)

  1. Collection pages lack engaging fonts and looks; you need to modify that and make it easy to understand with clear visuals

Hi @Karen_Ruff

Selling prints of original artwork is a niche where the story behind the work matters just as much as the work itself. People who buy art prints are almost always buying a feeling or a connection to the artist and right now the store needs to do a better job of giving them that. Who is KR, where does the island inspiration come from, what goes into each piece? That narrative deserves to be somewhere prominent because it’s what separates an original art store from a generic print shop.

The product range across framed canvas prints, giclée prints, cards, posters and merch is actually a smart spread because it gives people entry points at different price levels. Someone who can’t afford a framed canvas can start with a card or a poster and still feel connected to the work. Make sure that progression is communicated clearly on the homepage so people understand the full range of what you offer.

Your slider cart is already there which is a good foundation but it’s not being used to its potential. Art buyers often purchase multiple pieces especially when they’re decorating a space or buying gifts and showing complementary prints inside the cart is a natural way to encourage that. Someone adding a framed canvas should be seeing a related print or a card from the same collection right there without having to go back and browse. A free shipping progress bar in the cart would also work well given the range of price points you’re working with.

From my own experience, original art stores build their best audiences by showing the creative process. Behind the scenes content of the artwork being made, the island inspiration behind each piece, the printing and framing process, all of that builds the kind of connection that turns a one time buyer into someone who comes back for every new release.

Don’t install separate apps to build the cart features out individually though. It adds unnecessary cost and slows things down. Something like iCart handles the slider cart, progress bar and in-cart cross-sells all together in one place.

Hello @Karen_Ruff,

Your website looks great! One suggestion I’d make for the future is to explore AR. It’s more affordable than it might seem and can make a real difference. Think of it as a digital showroom in your pocket, where your customers can try your pieces in any space before making a purchase.

Imagine someone browsing your store, clicking on a piece they like, and seeing a “View in AR” button. They tap it and can instantly see your artwork in their own space. They could even compare frames, different pieces side by side to see what fits best.

It’s a great way for customers to really get a feel for your art, including the colors, the size, and the details, instead of just looking at photos.

Excited to see you grow!
