My account has been terminated due to AUP. My business is 6 years old!

Hello Shopify friends,

I am an automotive retailer for 6 years on Gumroad and I recently opened a shopify store due to expansion of my business.

I got an email that my store is in violation of the acceptable use policy. I’ve reviewed the AUP and none of the items are remotely close to the nature of my business. I believe this is an automated error, or some confusion of some sort. How can I rectify this? The core of my entire business is online.

–edit:

Email came in that my business has a level of risk they won’t be able to facilitate. What exactly could this be??

are these things automated? They also hold on to my funds for $120 days. All $6,000 + of it! Saying to mitigate risk of chargebacks!

If chargebacks were the problem why not limit the funds to the suspicious orders? This is saying to me that Shopify things my entire business seems suspicious and they are holding the money in case I was running a fraudulent business they can refund the customers!

I can prove my operation of 6 years, I have all my shipments, tracking, orders, everything from 2017 till now.

What kind of store discrimination is this?

All has been rectified and sorted.
Clarification was given and store is up and running.
My takeaway from this is be quite verbose in your communications to shopify if this happens to you. Give them all the docs you think would help and it’s good if your business existed before shopify, show information on that too. Also, clarify the nature of your products if you believe they are in doubt. All this should be sent in 1 email.

You’re really using chatGPT to make forum replies @Relynjon ?? (tested by asking it the same and got the same response you used).

I guess I’m surprised it took people that long to do but I would really caution you against doing it for things as important as a topic like this - even if it does give a good answer.
