Need some HELP

I make embroidered customized bags. I have approximately 100 designs I will display/with pictures that vary in price…I’ve got that figured out. However, I would like to let the customer choose the color of the vinyl (over 20 colors) for their bag. I tried doing the variance option for the first bag and when I entered the second bag I’m noticing that variances are not saved, so I have to enter them again and I believe your only allowed so many variances? With that said how can I let my customer choose their vinyl color. In advance thank u for your help!

Hi @caninecreations :waving_hand: everyone wants free help , titles that only cry “HELP” are rude so tend to just get ignored don’t make a habit of it.

Use descriptive titles, lack of effort and thought in communication is a big indicator of future merchant failure and peoples unwillingness to give help.

Currently products can only have 100 variants made of 1-3 options.

And that means some combination of options that create a total of 100 products.

Note: there may be a new system allowing more than 100 variants but there is no real timeline of release.

Reduce the number of variants per products.

Break products up into separate products by some characteristic.

Read the friendly manual thoroughly your business depends on it:

Hi @caninecreations ,

Sorry to hear about the issues you’re having. As you found out, Shopify has a limit on the number of variants that can exist on each product (a maximum of 100). This being said, if you want a customer to choose a color, in addition to the design given that you have 100 variants, you’re best bet is probably creating a dropdown statically on the product page (not connected to the backend of Shopify) that will allow the customer to choose the color. Then, when the customer presses add to cart, that information would be transferred to the cart and to your backend when they checkout. The color wouldn’t be connected to your backend inventory (because it was created statically on the product page), but you would be able to view it on the order page.

Let me know if you’d like help implementing this.

Hi @caninecreations

In my opinion, I think you may place too many designs as variants on the product pages, therefore they fail to display properly when customers choose the color.

This is a suggestion only, you can consider adding a form in product description section and let customers fully understand the colors in summary. Place some popular or top sale designs in the variant selector specifically, which may work normally on your website.

Hi @caninecreations :raising_hands:

Easify Product Options is perfect for you. The app allows you to easily create options like vinyl color, quantity, or any other option — without the variation limit that Shopify has.

In addition, you can assign the same option set to multiple products, so you don’t have to manually create each bag model each time. It’s all done quickly and without editing code. Here’s an example I created to show how it works.
