Topic summary

A user encountered a NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID error when accessing a Shopify-hosted website from their work computer, which has stricter security settings. The SSL certificate appears to show an expiration date of June 26, 2023, and is issued by “FG201FT921901643” (likely a Fortigate firewall device).

Key findings:

  • The site (crystalearthspirit.com) is accessible from other computers without issues
  • An SSL checker tool confirmed the certificate is valid when tested externally
  • The error appears to be isolated to the specific work computer

Likely cause: This is a local issue with the work computer’s network configuration, possibly due to SSL inspection by a corporate firewall or proxy that’s injecting its own certificate. The problem is not with the actual website’s SSL certificate, which validates correctly from external sources.

Hello
On another computer I am getting this error when trying to connect to the site. Why is the expired and who is responsible to have these certificates updated? Domain is hosted with Shopify. I can access the site on other pcs but the one at work has stricter settings and if anyone else has these setting it would stop them from looking at the site. Any help would be greatly appreciated. what sent her via the chat
