New order notifications disappear practically instantly

Hi, I’m having a problem with new order notifications from my stores.

I currently have two stores linked on my iPhone, and the following is happening: I receive notifications from both stores, but in one store (Store 1), the notifications disappear on their own.

This doesn’t happen with Store 2. When notifications arrive, they stay stored in the Notification Center without issue. However, if I receive a new notification from Store 1, they all disappear.

Hello @AndreaGuerrero

Sounds like Store 1’s push alerts are getting auto–cleared when the Shopify app (or Ping) registers they’ve been “read,” whereas Store 2’s stay put. First, double-check which app is driving those notifications—Shopify Admin vs. Shopify Ping. Ping will mark everything read (and clear them) as soon as you open a chat thread then do this:

1. Use the Shopify Admin app for Store 1

  • If you’re seeing disappearing alerts in Ping, install the main Shopify app and log into Store 1 there.
  • Go to More → Settings → Notifications and make sure “New order” pushes are enabled.
  • Pushes from the Admin app don’t auto-clear when you tap one—they’ll sit in Notification Center until you swipe them away.

2. Adjust in-app notification behavior

  • In the Shopify Admin app, tap Store icon → Notifications.
  • Turn off any setting like “Mark all notifications as read when opening app” or “Clear read notifications on app open.”

3. Lock your iOS notification style

  • Open Settings → Notifications → Shopify on your iPhone.
  • Under Alerts, enable Lock Screen and Notification Center (not just Banners).
  • Set Banner Style to Persistent so alerts stay until you manually clear them.

After you’ve switched Store 1 into the Shopify Admin app and disabled “auto-clear” in its notification settings, you should see its order alerts stick around just like Store 2’s.
