No way to contact customer service - illegal?

I discovered that I’m being billed 39/mo for a store that closed last year. Logged in and verified that the store was in fact closed and the last billing activity is shown as a year ago. So why am i still being charged monthly? Before disputing with a bank I wanted to reach out to Shopify customer service to find out the reason.

Unfortunately, customer service doesn’t exist. There’s not only no phone number but they removed the email option and the chat feature doesn’t actually do anything. (Yes, I tried all of the chat troubleshooting steps from other threads and have now wasted almost an hour searching help, updating browsers, trying incognito mode, clearing cache, etc)

This MUST be illegal. To bill automatically without providing any method for customers to get in touch when there’s an error. How many other people has this happened to? Please respond here with if you’ve also followed all of the steps provided by Shopify but been unable to either (a) reach a human agent and/or (b) stop erroneous billing charges.
