Not sold one item in 3 months. https://atcvkc-cw.myshopify.com/

Topic summary

A store owner reports zero sales after three months despite running ads on Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest, and maintaining an Etsy shop. The store sells women’s hoodies, tops, and bags with custom Canva designs.

Primary Issues Identified:

  • Domain credibility: Using the default myshopify.com subdomain (atcvkc-cw.myshopify.com) instead of a custom domain makes the store appear unprofessional and potentially suspicious
  • Lack of trust signals: Missing About Us page, using Hotmail email instead of professional domain email, no customer reviews or testimonials, no social proof
  • Weak homepage: Logo takes excessive space, no hero banner or clear value proposition, minimal content, dark/gloomy color scheme, jumps straight to product listings
  • Poor product presentation: Plain white background photos without lifestyle/model shots, no color swatches for variants, difficult to visualize products in use
  • Technical problems: Slow site performance, poor Core Web Vitals affecting Google rankings and user experience

Recommended Solutions:

  • Purchase custom .com domain immediately
  • Add structured homepage with hero section, brand messaging, and clear CTAs
  • Implement review system (import reviews from other platforms initially)
  • Create authentic About Us page and brand story
  • Use lifestyle photography showing products being worn
  • Set up retargeting campaigns for site visitors
  • Add email capture popup with discount incentive
  • Consider micro-influencer partnerships (5K-20K followers)
  • Optimize mobile experience and checkout flow

Status: Discussion remains open with the store owner acknowledging feedback and planning to implement suggested changes.

Hey all, I hope you’re all well and selling lots. I’ve had my shop open a few months now but not sold one item. I’ve run ads on Facebook, Tik-Tok and Pintrest. I’ve also got a shop on Etsy and used SEO’s etc but still nothing. I design everything myself through Canva and sell women’s hoodies, tops, bags etc. If anyone can help me with what direction I should go in I’d be really grateful. I’m not sure I’m allowed to post the address of the shop on here or not but here it is,

BARGAINS – BOLD. BEAUTIFUL. BADASS.

Hi @BBB70

Welcome to the community.

Your first step should be to search here for “no sales”, there are maybe thousands of topics, and a lot of good advice in them that you can apply to your store. But here are a few things that, for me could turn customers away:

  • Get a proper domain, target for .com one. Now think how “atcvkc-cw” looks like and does it mean anything for the customer? Plus, I do not think there are more than 5% of real stores on myshopify.com subdomain. The other 95% are either shops in the testing phase or just scammers.
  • You must know some brand that is doing well, check their website and pick up some good things. You need a lot more content, some story to say, some customer reassurance.
  • Add an about us page and do not use some AI-generated on high goals that you know sound fake.
  • Get some contact details, replace Hotmail email with a proper domain email you get.

Recently, Shopify released a pack of new themes so maybe try them out for a bit of fresh look.

Think you have a good base, but a lot more work to do. Research, pick some helpful tips, and take time.

Good luck

Hey! Thank you so much for replying, I really appreciate it. I’ll definitely try and enagage more and maybe run a sale or two. What did you mean when you said, ‘Also, consider reaching out to David who can hand over everything so you can get sales’? I’m not sure who David is. I’m new here. Apologies! Anyway, thanks again for your input! Take care, D.x

Hello @BBB70 . The long-standing problem of “no sales” mostly stems from the trust from people toward the store, and I believe that’s what causes “no sales” after taking a visit to your store.

  1. Custom domain is a must, because using a “.myshopify.com” domain looks suspicious and unprofessional. Most shoppers will hardly trust a store without a proper domain of its own, and it’s really really worth the investment to make your store look more legitimate at first sight (at least).

  2. Homepage needs more structure because the current layout is very basic. You may need a quality hero section with intriguing brand message and make featured collections stand out on homepage instead of showcasing product list. As a customer, I’d like to know what you’re about in the first few seconds.

  3. Lack of social proof or testimonials: You can start with a few photos of products being worn (even modeled yourself or by friends) because without reviews or customer photos for the sake of real-life validation, buyers don’t have enough reason to trust or feel inspired to buy.

That’s my suggestion for now, and you can try to see if it helps any better. Happy selling! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi, I’m Wayne from Akohub. We have been working with many brands to run online stores. After viewing your website, I believe our expertise could add value to your business.

First off, I would suggest adding a hero section at the top of your homepage. Currently the store jumps straight into product listings, but a hero section with a clear, eye-catching image and a CTA button would navigate viewers to the section you want them to check out first. This not only makes the shopping experience more enjoyable but also helps convey what your brand is all about from the very first glance. And I suggest changing the store domain and making it related to your brand name. The current one can make your site look less trustworthy to shoppers.

Here’s an example of the hero section from a clothing brand that we have been working with:

Putting effort into running ads on Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest is a great start. To improve your conversion rate and ROAS, I recommend combining your ads with retargeting campaigns. Retargeting focuses on people who have already visited your site but haven’t purchased, keeping your products top-of-mind as they browse elsewhere. Studies show that retargeted audiences are much more likely to convert since you’re targeting warm leads who have already shown interest.

To manage your campaigns easier, consider trying our Ako Marketing App, which streamlines the setup of retargeting campaigns across platforms. This can help focus your efforts on shoppers who are already familiar with your brand and create a more personalized shopping experience that drives sales and fosters long-term customer relationships.

Best wishes! If you have any more questions or need a free professional consultation, feel free to let us know! Don’t forget to like and mark it as a solution if you find this helpful.

Hello @BBB70

Here’s what I would suggest you to check:

1. Start with your homepage
Your hero section should instantly tell visitors what makes your hoodies and bags special. Swap your current banner for a lifestyle shot showing someone using your product, pair it with a punchy headline (“Stay cozy. Stay unique.”), and a single “Shop Bestsellers” button. Remove any side links or clutter so the eye goes straight to your top items.

2. Show off customer reviews
Even with zero sales, you can still collect and display reviews. Install Kudosi Reviews and import reviews from AliExpress, Amazon, Temu, Etsy, eBay, and more. Once you get the reviews, sales will come in as customers only buy where they can trust.

2. Refine your ad targeting and creative
On Facebook and TikTok, narrow your audience to one tight persona (e.g., women 25–35 who follow eco-friendly fashion). Test ad creative that highlights a single benefit (“Our recycled-fabric hoodies wash softer every time”) rather than multiple products at once. Use a short testimonial video or carousel of bestsellers linked directly to the product page.

3. Capture visitors before they leave
Add a simple email popup offering 10% off their first order. In your welcome email, share your brand story (“I started ATCVKC because…”), showcase your top three pieces, and include that same discount code to pull them back.

4. Leverage low-cost influencers
Send a free hoodie to two or three micro-influencers in your niche (5K–20K followers) with a clear brief: post an unboxing or style video and tag your shop. Their authentic content often drives more engaged traffic than paid ads alone. This also adds to the trust element for your store.

5. Retarget interested browsers
Install a Facebook pixel (or TikTok pixel), then create a retargeting campaign for anyone who viewed a product but didn’t buy. Serve them a “Still thinking it over? Here’s 15% off for the next 24 hours” ad to reignite interest.

6. Optimize your checkout
Do a test purchase on mobile and desktop. Make sure shipping costs appear early (even on product pages) and there are no surprise fees at checkout. If your cart abandonment rate is high, set up an abandoned-cart email flow in Shopify Email or Klaviyo.

Hi @BBB70 !

Thanks so much for reaching out to the community. It’s Nick here from BON Loyalty, your go-to customer loyalty solution for Shopify stores.

I’ve taken a look at your store, and first of all, congratulations on getting your business up and running, you’ve done an amazing job so far. However, there are a few suggestions that could make your store even better:

1. Switch to a Custom Domain

Why: I noticed you’re using the default Shopify domain (atcvkc-cw.myshopify.com).
How: Consider purchasing a custom domain like bargain.com. A custom domain is not only more memorable but also helps build trust with your customers. You can easily link it to your store through Online Store > Domains in your Shopify settings.

2. Shrink Your Header

Why: Your header currently takes up quite a bit of space on the page.
How: You can adjust the size of your header by going to Online Store > Themes > Customize and reducing the padding or margin under header settings. Making it a bit more compact will help with the overall layout.

3. Add a Hero Banner

Why: A hero banner is a great way to highlight your key message, whether it’s a new collection or a special offer.
How:

  • Use a full-width image or video banner at the top of your homepage.
  • Design a high-quality banner that reflects your brand (think best-selling t-shirts or hoodies) and include a catchy tagline like “Comfort and Style in Every Hoodie.”
  • Make it clickable so it directs visitors to specific collections or product pages.

4. Add an “About Us” Section

Why: An “About Us” section builds connection, and testimonials provide social proof.
How:

  • Create an engaging “About Us” page that shares your store’s story, your values, and what makes your products unique.
  • Include details about your brand’s mission, and what makes your t-shirts and hoodies stand out (e.g., premium materials, eco-friendly production, etc.).
  • Don’t forget to add customer testimonials or reviews to boost credibility and trust.

Additional Recommendations:

Improve Mobile Experience: Since many users browse and shop on mobile, ensure your header and content look great on mobile devices. You can preview mobile responsiveness under Online Store > Themes > Customize by toggling to mobile view.

Branding and Design: A consistent and visually appealing design (with a logo, colors, and typography aligned with your brand) will make your website stand out.

I hope these suggestions can apply to your store! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, and best of luck with your store!

Hi @BBB70

Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community! I’m Donna from MooseDesk , your go-to Live Chat, WhatsApp and FAQ App.

I happened to come across your post and wanted to share some thoughts on your store UX as a UX enthusiast. Hopefully my recommendations can provide some better customer experience advices, please kindly check

1. Revamp Your Homepage

Currently the homepage feels a bit too minimal and might be missing that initial “wow” factor that encourages visitors to explore and buy. First impressions matter a lot, especially in e-commerce — and a strong, engaging homepage can really set the tone.

Here are a few things you might want to consider revamping:

  • Navigation bar & logo size: The logo takes up a lot of space and pushes important content down. You could resize it to keep the focus on your products and message.

  • Dark color scheme: The overall tone feels a little gloomy, which might affect the mood and perception of your brand. Lighter or more vibrant tones could help make the site feel more welcoming and fresh.

  • Lack of a strong homepage visual: There’s no striking banner or hero image to grab attention. A high-quality, on-brand hero image can immediately communicate what your store is about and why visitors should care.

  • Missing clear messaging: What makes your store special? What are you selling and why should people buy from you? A strong headline or short value proposition would help guide visitors and build trust.

2. Optimize your product pages

Most of the product shots are placed on a plain white background, which can feel a bit flat and generic, especially in the fashion and beauty space, where aesthetics matter a lot to shoppers.

Consider investing in lifestyle images or model photography to help customers better visualize the products in real-life settings. Seeing how items look when worn or styled can build trust, inspire confidence, and drive more conversions.

In short, great visuals sell, and in your niche, they really make a difference

3. Add a footer section

The footer is often overlooked, but it’s a valuable piece that can significantly enhance user experience and boost your website’s effectiveness. Some of the elements you can consider adding are:

  • Copyright notice: Clearly state the copyright owner and year.
  • Privacy policy link: Link to your detailed privacy policy.
  • Terms of service link: Link to your terms and conditions.
  • Contact information: Include your address, phone number, and email.
  • Social media icons: Link to your social media profiles.

4. Customer Support System and FAQ page

You should implement a customer support system, such as a widget, to allow users to easily reach out with inquiries or requests. This instills confidence in potential buyers and reduces hesitation in making purchases.

For example:

Also, creating a FAQ page to address common questions about your store policies, shipping, orders, refunds, and returns is important. Clear communication helps manage customer expectations and prevents misunderstandings.

To address this, I recommend using MooseDesk, an app for creating unique FAQ pages for your customers. Besides helping you create your Help Center, we also provide a helpdesk/ticketing system for your customer support.

Since our app is now available for free, all current users will be considered as early-bird users and get to enjoy all our current features for free forever!

As an enthusiast in UX, I recommend implementing these changes to improve customer experience when scrolling through your store.

Hey @BBB70 ! I can see you’ve put effort into your designs and marketing, but there are several fundamental issues preventing conversions on your store that need immediate attention.

Critical Issues Affecting Sales:

  • Domain Credibility: Using a myshopify.com domain instead of a custom domain makes your store appear unprofessional and less trustworthy to potential customers - this alone can kill conversions.
  • Site Performance: Your site has poor Core Web Vitals, particularly CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift), which hurts both Google rankings and user experience. Slow, unstable sites drive customers away immediately.
  • Homepage Problems: Your logo takes up nearly half the screen on desktop, and the homepage content is extremely minimal. Customers need to see trust signals, featured products, testimonials, and engaging content to feel confident purchasing.
  • Product Visualization: For clothing items, customers can’t properly visualize color options without color swatches, making it harder to choose and purchase.
  • Missing Content Strategy: Without blog content, you’re missing out on organic traffic that could complement your paid ads.

To address these issues efficiently, several tools can help: Tapita: SEO Optimizer & Speed offers a comprehensive free plan for technical optimization and speed improvements. Tapita: AI Theme Section Store is completely free and can help build a proper homepage with professional sections. Tapita AI SEO Blog Builder is also 100% free for creating fashion content. For better product organization, G: Combined Listings & Variant offers a free plan with color swatches.

Fix these fundamentals first - they’re likely why your ads aren’t converting!
