Password store

Topic summary

Main issue: After creating a Shopify store, it was automatically locked behind a password, and the “Remove password” button seemed inactive, preventing visitors from viewing the store.

Key guidance: Password protection can only be removed after selecting a pricing plan. If on a free trial, choosing a plan won’t charge subscription fees until the trial ends. Help Center links were provided covering plan selection and the password page.

Action taken: A plan was selected and the password protection was successfully removed.

Current status: With the password disabled, the storefront is now publicly accessible. The question of whether the store is online was answered affirmatively. No further issues were reported; the matter appears resolved.

Hi,

after creating my store I realised that the access is secured automatically by a password, meaning that no one can access to my store without the password!

i tried to remove it by clicking simply on “remove password” button by apparently it’s an inactive button!

someone can help plz! :folded_hands:

@TNCosm You can only remove password protection from your online store after you pick a pricing plan. If you pick a plan while you are on a free trial, then you won’t be charged any subscription fees until your free trial expires. Thanks Trevor for this precisions

I could remove that password protection, is that means that my store is already online?

That’s correct! If the password is disabled, then it will be available to the general public.
