Paying Printify?

Topic summary

A new Shopify seller reports a first order sent to Printify is on hold because payment to the printer isn’t complete; they hoped to use the order’s revenue to pay Printify but can’t find a payout option in Shopify.

Support explains Printify cannot pull funds from Shopify or other sales channels. Instead, Printify charges the merchant’s linked credit card or Printify balance for the product’s production and shipping; once paid, the order moves to production.

Access to the order’s proceeds depends on the store’s payment processor (e.g., Shopify Payments or a third-party gateway) and its payout schedule. A help doc is provided for payout timing details.

Recommended actions:

  • Add/verify a credit card or sufficient Printify balance so orders aren’t held.
  • Check your payment provider’s payout schedule to know when funds reach your bank.
  • Share the specific payment provider for tailored guidance.

Status: The original poster acknowledged the guidance; no further issues reported, implying the question was addressed.

Hi there!!

I just officially opened my Shopify store yesterday and made a sale.

I was able to send the order off to Printify, but now it is saying that it is on hold and the payment is not complete.

I want to be able to use the money that was made from the sale in order to pay printify. How do I go about doing this?

I see where I can add a payment through printify, but how do I even access the funds from Shopify?

Shopify tells me my my net, gross, etc balance, but I don’t see a payout option?

I’m confused and not sure what to do and want to make sure my customers orders are processed in a timely fashion.

Hi, @taylorb5454 !

Thanks for your post. I found this information from Printify’s help center that might be helpful:

Printify cannot pull funds directly from your sales channel, so when an order comes in to Printify from your sales platform, Printify charges your linked credit card or Printify balance for the production price of the product and shipping charges. After the payment is received, the order is sent to production.

How and when you recieve the payout for your order will depend on which payment processor you’re using. I recommend checking out this help document for more details. If you would like to share your payment provider, I’d be happy to provide additional information!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much!
