Hi!
We’re having some issues with PayPal Express in our store. I’ve seen PayPal is having problems since February, but I’m not sure if ours could be caused by something else.
I’ve checked our settings and everything is good and active.
Anyone with the same issue?
Thank you in advance
I have a few ideas here: check for a currency mismatch. If the currency isn’t active in PayPal, transactions can fail without much explanation.
it could be a risk or regional block. Transactions may be declined if the buyer’s location, IP, or product category triggers their internal risk filters.
Or finally: try placing a test order yourself and check PayPal’s status page. If it fails for all customers, it may be temporary instability on their side.

Hello,
If PayPal Express was working before and now suddenly isn’t, there are a few additional things you can check.
First, try disconnecting and reconnecting the PayPal integration in Shopify. Sometimes the API token between Shopify and PayPal can expire or lose sync, which can cause errors like the one in your screenshot.
Next, check if PayPal is blocking certain transaction types. This can happen if:
• the buyer’s country differs from the regions supported by your PayPal account
• the product category triggers PayPal’s internal risk filters
• the order value exceeds certain thresholds set in PayPal’s risk settings
Another useful test is to perform a transaction using a different PayPal account or a test environment to see if the issue affects all customers or only certain buyers.
If the error occurs for all customers, it may indeed be related to a temporary issue or outage in the PayPal API. PayPal occasionally experiences short outages that affect Express Checkout integrations.
Hopefully, reconnecting the PayPal integration or testing with a different buyer account will help determine the cause.
