When I sort the products by “Updated newest first”, I always see the same products keeping on the top even no changes are made on them.
I have seen this happen after I added a compare at price to the products, and I have no idea why would this happen…

Are you referring to Sort in the admin collection?
It only works with creating new products, not change. So when you change the price, it won’t count as a new product and everything won’t be reordered.
