I create a purchase order in Stocky for Inventoriable Products. The sync with Quickbooks Desktop sets up a payable for the goods that I have purchased but charges Inventoriable Goods against an expense account. In my case it is to Freight and Shipping Costs. Inventoriable Products should be mapped as an Inventory Asset.
When I set up mapping it looks like this.
Sales Merchandise
COGS account Cost of Goods Sold
Expense Account Freight and Shipping Cost
Inventory Adjustments POS Inventory Adjustments
Asset Account Inventory Asset
Has anyone else had this issue. Appreciate any help.
Chris
I was able to get it to work. Go into Quickbooks. Cick on Lists/ Items List.
In the search bar type in Shopify Received Items . Open up that Item and you
can change the account mapping. Apparently the Shopify mapping does not seem
to change for this item. This is the workaround that I figured out.
Go into Quickbooks Desktop, got to Items then click on Shopify Received
Items and change the account mapping. Changing the account mapping in
Shopify is useless.
I’ve done some tinkering with things along the lines you suggest, mainly with where payments of various types are deposited. I can’t find the item you are referring to. Could you maybe post a screen shot ? Thanks!
I changed the Account Mapping to an Inventory Asset account since that is where items that you run through the purchase order system that are being sold by your business should be recorded. A purchased good is an Inventoriable Item until you sell it, then once it is sold it is removed from Inventory.
That is both easier and harder than saying it. I think to know what you NEED to do, one would have to understand what happens when you try NOW. There are a great number of possible issues, including having Classes turned on and mapped properly in QBDT, having Accounts Mapped Properly, having sales tax set up properly, and having Shopify properly connected to QBDT. Any ONE of these can be appoint of failure.
I mapped EXPENSE in Shopify to Inventory Asset in Quickbooks.
I use the Purchase Order (Stocky) application to buy Inventoriable Items for
my business. This doesn’t make sense to me, but it maps purchase goods for
resale properly as Inventory in Quickbooks.
Adjustments to Inventory in Shopify are also never refelected in Quickbooks.
Talking to customer support was like teaching a Financial Accounting class
to Art Students.
My sync button is spinning. It keeps spinning but nothing comes over. I’m going to revisit the mapping button. We also do our purchase orders in stocky.
Here are some screen shots of my setup. When I click on Sync to Quickbooks, it is currently taking around half an hour for some reason, but it does work. I have QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024.
